In partnership with Renaisi, we conducted ethnographies with 18 families affected by ‘behavioural difficulties’, to produce written portraits, a case study podcast, and an insights report with recommendations for better support. More here.
This case study, co-designed with our participant Chloe, is part of our ongoing work with Violence Reduction Unit, to understand the implementation and impact of their ‘Stronger Futures’ programme.
The ‘PBSA’ fund was set up to build the capacity of local partnerships and address issues that matter to communities. We travelled to three areas across England, to meet over a dozen community organisations and find out the impact at a grassroots level.
We spent time with three people from three different Hyde homes, to understand their experiences around: Housing Challenges & Stability, Daily Routines, Community, Mental & Physical Health, Education & Employment, Hopes For The Future.
This is one of our older, yet still very pertinent, projects – which was twice shown at The House of Commons. We spent time with three people across different parts of the country, to understand their experiences around: jobs and money, housing and transport, time and relationships, and consumer services.
This is a clip from our video with Barry, a recipient of OFGEM’s ‘Warm Home Discount’ scheme, which offers advice and initiatives to low-income or ‘vulnerable’ customers, to help them better manage their energy usage. We visited four people, focussing on their: overall home life and lifestyle, household energy use, financial management, and engagement with energy advice.
We visited people aged over 50 around the country, to map out ‘informal voluntary contributions in the community’. This video is a 1-minute compilation snapshot, based on four ethnographic case studies. The project aim was to recommend ways in which national/local government, the voluntary sector, and business, can help people in later life find meaningful ways to contribute to their communities.
This film, co-designed with the young people whose experiences are shared, was shown at The House of Commons to highlight the realities of living in temporary housing. We first conducted interviews with the young people, and then, to protect their anonymity, brought their words to life using objects and stop-motion animation. The young people helped out on set, and their hands can be seen in shot.
