In partnership with Renaisi, we conducted ethnographies with 18 families where children had shown persistent violent or defiant behaviour, to produce written portraits, a case study podcast, and an insights report with recommendations for better support. More here.

To help evaluate ACE’s ‘Cultural Citizens’ programme, we accompanied a group of students on their trip to Blackpool and returned months later to interview them, to find out what it was like being on the programme, what its impacts were, and how it could be improved.

What are the impacts of an after-school support charity? / Into University

IntoUniversity runs after-school centres that provide academic support and mentoring for young people from less privileged backgrounds, to help them attain a university place or pursue a chosen vocation. We spent a month visiting their Brent centre to produce this ethnographic report.

To help with the learning around Children In Need’s ‘Youth Social Action’ fund, we visited four of the supported organisations to understand the impact for the young people and organisations involved.

What’s been the impact of an ‘Empowering Places’ programme on local communities? / Power To Change

The ‘Empowering Places’ programme provides funding and support to grow community businesses. In tandem with Renaisi’s evaluation report, we travelled to three towns across England to visit over twenty community businesses and find out the impact at a grassroots level.

We spent time with three citizens’ assembly participants, each from a different part of the country. We aimed to understand their experiences and provide a context for the issues being addressed in each assembly – in this case, the redevelopment of their respective town centres.
