What’s it like growing older in Lincolnshire, and how can the council help?

In August 2020, Lincolnshire County Council signed a ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ with the Centre for Ageing Better, alongside East Lindsey District Council, to establish a five-year strategic partnership. The partnership’s aim is to respond to the opportunities and challenges of an ageing population, raise ageing as a strategic priority, and take joint action to improve later lives.

As part of this work, the Centre for Ageing Better commissioned Close-Up Research to visit organisations working with older people across Lincolnshire. We spoke to people there about their experiences of growing older in the county, what they liked about living in Lincolnshire, and what improvements they’d like to see. The interviews were recorded in audio-only format, and accompanied by photos of the participants and their local environments.
